Tennessee, 6 other states sue Ticketmaster over alleged scalping scheme

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Federal Trade Commission and a bipartisan group of seven state attorneys general filed a lawsuit against Ticketmaster and its parent company, Live Nation Entertainment, accusing it of running a ticket scalping scheme.

Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti is one of the AGs who joined the suit, filed in California.

The lawsuit claims Ticketmaster knew that numerous ticket brokers found a way around ticket-buying limits on the Ticketmaster website, buying thousands of tickets above the set limit. They claim this basically boxes ordinary fans out from getting tickets…
