UPDATED – COFFEE COUNTY, Tenn. — 20-Miles southeast of Rutherford County, the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office has charged a juvenile high school student with unlawful possession of a handgun following an investigation earlier this week. The incident unfolded at Coffee County High School off of McArthur Street or HWY 55 in Manchester, TN.
According to Sheriff’s Office officials, School Resource Officers (SROs) at a local high school received information that a student may have had access to a firearm. SROs located the juvenile, who admitted to having a pistol at his residence.
Deputies then went to the student’s home and seized the weapon. Investigators learned that the juvenile had obtained the gun, but no evidence has confirmed that the firearm was ever brought onto school property…
