Rutherford County School Board approves funding for ESL program

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Rutherford County School Board passed a proposal to help Spanish-speaking families learn English.

During Thursday night’s meeting, the school board approved funding that would add two teachers to the list of ESL (English as a Second Language) lead teachers. One would be at Smyrna Elementary and the other at Smyrna Primary, and they each will teach two hours a week.
