Portland Police Arrest Tennessee Man for Alleged Assault at South Waterfront Protest

Last night’s presence of the Portland Police Bureau (PPB) at the South Waterfront protests ended with the arrest of a man linked to an earlier assault. PPB, which had been monitoring the protest activities closely, activated their Incident Command Team, as per a report by the bureau. Officers were on hand, including Dialogue Liaison Officers distinguished by their white shirts, focusing on maintaining open lines of communication rather than enforcement.

Despite the calm that prevailed for most of the evening, Terrell Bouie, a 33-year-old Tennessee resident, was apprehended at about 5:15 p.m. Authorities have charged Bouie with harassment related to an incident occurring Sunday evening, where he allegedly threw an unknown liquid at another person. His arrest adds to a growing tally, with the PPB having made a total of 37 arrests since protests began in early June, the PPB stated.
