“John Doe” identified after more than 47 years

For more than 47 years, Jessie Lee Williamson’s identity remained a mystery.

After more than a decade of DNA testing, Williamson was identified publicly by Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office detective Sgt. Richard Brinkley on Oct. 6 as an unidentified murder victim from Aug. 1, 1978.
