Tennessee gas prices continue to fall, average now $2.68 statewide

NASHVILLE — Tennessee gas prices continued their downward trend last week, dropping an average of three cents. The state average now stands at $2.68 per gallon, which is 10 cents lower than one month ago and 11 cents less than this time last year.

Nationally, the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline has fallen five cents to $3.03 — its lowest in four years. Analysts attribute the decline to falling crude oil prices, reduced gasoline demand and the seasonal switch to less expensive winter-blend fuel.

According to the Energy Information Administration, gasoline demand decreased from 8.91 million barrels per day to 8.45 million, while total domestic supply dipped slightly from 219.1 million barrels to 218.8 million. Gasoline…..
