MOUNTAIN CITY, Tenn. — There is a continuous need for foster families in Tennessee. However, there is a greater need for particular groups in the system, according to the Tennessee Department of Child Services.
“Finding foster families that are willing to take on multiple children is really key,” Ashley Zarach with the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services said. “Our main goal is to keep siblings together.”
Zarach said it’s the department’s highest priority. They offer a different board rate for families that are willing to take in siblings, and encourage foster families to do so.
