OneGenAway launching drive-thru food giveaways, ramping up deliveries as TN families face hunger due to possible SNAP pause

FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WSMV) – As hundreds of thousands of Middle Tennesseans face possible hunger or financial distress with the impending pause to SNAP benefits, another nonprofit is stepping up to help.

OneGenAway will launch drive-thru food supplement pickups starting Tuesday, the Franklin nonprofit said in a press release. The organization is also more than tripling its Doorstep Pantry Home Delivery Service and partnering with Metro Nashville Police to distribute food.

“This is a critical moment for our community,” said Chris Whitney, founder and CEO of OneGenAway. “When thousands of families suddenly lose access to the food they depend on, we can’t wait for someone else to step in. We’re doing everything we can to fill the gap because no one should have to choose between feeding their kids and paying their bills.”

Here are instructions on how to watch WSMV4 live on various platforms.
