New Chick-fil-A Proposed for South Church & Joe B. Jackson Parkway

MURFREESBORO, TN – A new Chick-fil-A restaurant is being proposed for the northeast corner of South Church Street and Joe B. Jackson Parkway in Murfreesboro, directly across from Walmart and adjacent to the Aldi grocery store. The 5,183-square-foot, single-story building would feature a modern design, parking, landscaping, and a drive-thru, all within the Marketplace at Savannah Ridge development. However, not all design elements have fully satisfied the architectural standards in the city’s design guidelines — particularly the building’s orientation and a faux entrance on the west side intended to mimic a front-facing entry.

City planning staff note that while the plan largely meets zoning and development rules, a few exterior design elements need further discussion by the Planning Commission. If the Commission agrees that the building materials and layout reflect the spirit of the design guidelines, the project could move forward with staff approval — pending continued cooperation between the developer and the City…
