RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Rutherford County Property Assessor’s Office faces a critical deadline next week, according to a letter obtained by News 2.
The letter, sent from the Tennessee Comptroller’s Office to Rutherford County Property Assessor Rob Mitchell on Nov. 12, said the office of the Rutherford County Property Assessor must make “necessary corrections” in their data entry system by Nov. 26 or else “there will be no choice but to engage the Office of the Attorney General.”
The deadline comes one month after Tennessee Comptroller Jason Mumpower presented the Rutherford County Commission with a report accusing the Rutherford County Property Assessor’s Office of “incompetent work.”
