Wyatt’s Wish: A Tennessee Log Cabin Retreat

Tony and Lisa, operators of a demanding 650-acre thoroughbred horse farm in central Kentucky, sought a quiet escape from their long working days. Inspired by their late son, Wyatt, who passed away in 2019, they sought a place to honor his memory and build a family legacy.

Wyatt had always dreamed of a family lake house. “Going to the lake was something he really enjoyed,” Tony recalls. After his passing, they realized the importance of fulfilling his wish.

Financing the property and building their log cabin, appropriately named Wyatt’s Wish, was made seamless by Rural 1st and Senior Loan Officer Brandon Savage. “Brandon streamlined the process, allowing us to focus on the construction,” Lisa notes. “Filling the cabin with Wyatt’s favorite design elements was part of our therapy,” Tony adds.

Their finished cabin is a sanctuary filled with Wyatt’s cherished memories. It offers a much-needed respite from the couple’s busy everyday farm life, surrounded by the welcoming community of the small town they now call home…
