Mental health days disagreement stalls action at Rutherford County School Board meeting

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — A discussion over teacher mental health days turned emotional at a recent Rutherford County School Board meeting.

Board members debated whether teachers should be granted mental health days and how best to support educators. Part of the conversation focused on the Professional Educators Collaborative Conferencing Act (PECA), a law passed in 2011 that provides teachers a formal process to raise concerns with school leaders.
