RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — As Rutherford County’s population grows, the county commission faces some tough decisions, including whether to build new schools and where.
“If we don’t have a strong public school system, our entire local economy will suffer,” Rutherford County Schools’ Director, Jimmy Sullivan, told commissioners Tuesday night.

Sullivan explained to commissioners Tuesday that if the county doesn’t get to a point where they’re opening new school buildings every single year, the school system simply can’t keep up with projected growth.
