WESTMORELAND, Tenn. (WSMV) – A Tennessee teacher is receiving international recognition for her dedication to a Midstate high school.
Westmoreland High School announced Friday that longtime educator Glenda Akin was honored with the Guinness World Record for the Longest Career as a Female Teacher in the Same School. She has worked at the Sumner County school for more than six decades, according to a Facebook post.
“Ms. Akin’s lifelong commitment to education has shaped generations of students and left an unforgettable legacy in our school and community,” the post said. “Please join us in congratulating Ms. Glenda Akin on this historic and well-deserved honor!”
