Man Rushed to Vanderbilt after Elliott Drive House Fire Tuesday Night

MURFREESBORO, TN – A quiet Tuesday evening (12/23/2025) took a frightening turn for one Murfreesboro family after a fire broke out at their home on Elliott Drive, near the Sulphur Springs and Northfield Boulevard area. Fire Chief Mark McCluskey and multiple units from Murfreesboro Fire Rescue responded swiftly after smoke was reported coming from the residence.

According to officials, a woman arriving at the home first noticed smoke and immediately called for help. Fire crews discovered that the blaze had started on the back porch and was pushing heavy smoke through the home’s vents. Thanks to their quick action, firefighters were able to extinguish the fire before it spread deeper into the structure.

One adult male was inside the home when the fire began and suffered injuries and smoke inhalation. He was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment.
