TENNESSEE — Schools across Tennessee will be closed on multiple days in January 2026 in observance of nationally recognized holidays.
Public schools are scheduled to close on Thursday, January 1, 2026, for New Year’s Day. The holiday marks the beginning of the new year and is observed nationwide. Classes are expected to resume the following school day, depending on individual district calendars.
