Murfreesboro, Tenn. (WZTV) — Murfreesboro Police are expanding their Real Time Crime Center after a year of strong results, saying the technology-driven unit has become a critical tool in solving crimes and supporting officers in the field.
The Real Time Crime Center, known as RTCC, uses city-owned surveillance cameras and license plate readers to monitor activity across Murfreesboro and provide officers with real-time intelligence during active calls and investigations.
Police say the center’s impact has continued to grow. As the department approaches the end of 2025, the RTCC is nearing 450 verified successes, ranging from stolen vehicle recoveries to assisting in homicide investigations — an improvement over its results from 2024…
