Johnson City, Tennessee – A high-impact winter storm is increasingly likely to affect the Tennessee–North Carolina border region from Wednesday, Jan. 14, through Friday, Jan. 17, bringing a strong threat of heavy mountain snow and dangerous travel conditions across the southern Appalachians.
According to the National Weather Service Weather Prediction Center, areas along the Tennessee–North Carolina border currently carry a 60 percent probability for severe winter weather impacts.
