Man With Prior Rutherford County Convictions Wanted on Aggravated Rape Charges

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Metro Nashville Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man wanted on multiple felony charges, including aggravated rape, aggravated assault, and aggravated burglary, stemming from an alleged sexual assault involving a minor. A warrant naming the suspect was issued earlier this week on Monday, and as of late Wednesday morning, he had not been captured.

Detectives with the Metro Nashville Police Department Youth Services Division say 31-year-old Mena Awad, who previously told a different agency that he lived in Smyrna, is accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl inside her Millwood Drive apartment on the morning of December 31, 2025. Millwood Drive is near the Nashville BNA airport.

According to investigators, Awad allegedly entered the victim’s unlocked apartment in Davidson County around 7:00 a.m. on New Year’s Eve and assaulted the teen in her bedroom. The victim told detectives she did not know the suspect and reported that he was carrying both a gun and a knife during the incident.
