Three winter weather-related deaths in West Tennessee, officials say

At least three people in Tennessee died due to weather-related reasons during the weekend winter storm, the Tennessee Department of Health confirmed on Jan. 25. All the reported deaths were in West Tennessee.

The department confirmed deaths in Crockett, Haywood and Obion counties, according to a press release from the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency.

On Jan. 22, Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee declared a state of emergency for all 95 counties in Tennessee. The order encouraged Tennesseans to prepare for the possibility of “snow, ice, freezing rain, and prolonged freezing temperatures across the state.”…
