Drinking water issues due to winter weather reported in 15 counties across Tennessee

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The winter storm is affecting much more than the power grid this week, as the state reported that icy conditions have impacted the drinking water in multiple counties.

Included in the latest report from the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) reported that various drinking water facilities in the following counties have been impacted by winter weather:

  • Clay
  • Davidson
  • Dickson
  • Hardeman
  • Hardin
  • Henderson
  • Hickman
  • Humphreys
  • Lewis
  • Maury
  • McNairy
  • Perry
  • Sumner
  • Trousdale
  • Wayne

TDEC assures residents that water is in supply, but usage guidance is required in some areas, so it is imperative to heed any instructions from water providers.
