Tracking another blast of arctic air and even more snow

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) –FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY – FRIDAY – SUNDAY

Another brutal blast of arctic air is headed for the Midstate this weekend, and it will even start off as some snow for parts of the Midstate. An arctic cold front will approach Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky on Friday and bring us some scattered flurries and even a few snow showers. Many of us should not expect much accumulation, a dusting at most for parts of the Midstate. But higher peaks of the Cumberland Plateau could get up to an inch of snowfall. We’ll need to watch for some slick spots Friday afternoon and evening.

Temperatures Saturday morning will be near if not into the single digits with wind chills near and even below zero in parts of the area. Temperatures Saturday afternoon will be in the teens and low 20s with a gusty wind between 20-30 mph making it feel like it’s in the single digits. Saturday night temperatures will fall near the single digits once again with wind chills as low as -10° possible Sunday morning…
