Ice dams forming on top of homes across Middle Tennessee

MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) — As ice begins to melt across Middle Tennessee, roofers are reporting increasing concerns with ice dams.

Chris Harmon and his wife have lived in the area for the past 12 years. He said this weekend’s winter blast is unlike anything he’s ever seen in the area.

“Usually, you’ll have it come down, the sun comes out the next day, and things start going away. But you don’t have any chance when you get down to 3 degrees at night,” Harmon said.

Now, Harmon is dealing with ice dams, or water freezing and contrasting on top of his roof and seeping into his home…
