NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA) said the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has approved FEMA Public Assistance (FEMA PA) and FEMA PA Category B to support eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations with disaster-related response and recovery costs.
According to TEMA, 15 Tennessee counties were approved for FEMA PA and eight were approved for FEMA PA Category B.
FEMA Public Assistance helps cover eligible expenses associated with emergency work and the repair or replacement of damaged public infrastructure such as roads, bridges, utilities and public buildings, according to TEMA. FEMA Public Assistance Category B includes eligible actions taken to save lives, protect public health and safety and prevent additional damage.
