Tennessee’s free fire alarm program expands to include carbon monoxide detectors

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Tennesseans can now get free carbon monoxide detectors from the state. It’s part of an expansion of the Department of Commerce and Insurance and Tennessee State Fire Marshal’s Office’s “Get Alarmed, Tennessee!” program.

Started in 2012, the program allows those living in Tennessee to request free smoke alarms and is credited with saving 524 lives. “Get Alarmed, Tennessee!” has distributed more than 300,000 alarms over the years.
