‘When that water is gone, it is gone’: Two Middle Tennessee cities temporarily cut off from water supplier as it tries to repair leaks

MANCHESTER, Tenn. (WSMV) – Two Middle Tennessee cities were temporarily cut off from their water supplier on Monday after the utility ran “into some unanticipated difficulty while repairing their leak.”

The cities of Manchester and Tullahoma, both of which receive the bulk of their water supply from Duck River Utility (DRUC), announced Monday afternoon that they had to run exclusively on water tanks within the city as the utility attempted to fix a leak.

“It is critical that we conserve water at this time,” Tullahoma Utilities Authority (TUA) said Monday. “If you’re doing laundry, running the dishwasher or even washing the dog right now, please stop and listen. This is not a test.”…
