Lawmaker pushing for constitutional amendment for Tennesseans to grow food at home

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A Tennessee lawmaker is pushing to amend the state’s constitution to allow residents to grow their own food at home.

Rep. Michele Reneau (R-Signal Mountain) has introduced a resolution to add a provision establishing the right for Tennesseans to grow their own food.

“Proposes adding a provision establishing the right to food that includes the right to save and exchange seeds and the right to grow, raise, harvest, produce, and acquire and consume the food of their own choosing for their own nourishment, sustenance, bodily health, and well-being,” HJR 0780 reads…
