NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) says crews are actively repairing potholes statewide after freeze-thaw cycles caused widespread damage to roadways.
“We compile a list, and then we strategically go to a state route at a time or an interstate corridor at a time,” a TDOT spokesperson said.
Matt Lynch, who has lived near Smyrna for more than a decade, says potholes along I-24 have been a persistent issue.
“And there’s also no shoulders,” Lynch said. “So if you slide off or hit a pothole and lose control, it’s a tough situation.”…
