State to hold public hearing about Choice Lanes on I-24

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) will be holding three National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Public Hearings about the Interstate 24 Choice Lanes project.

TDOT said the hearings will discuss the approved Environmental Assessment and Recommended Preferred Alternative for the proposed widenings for I-24 for the added price-managed lanes between I-40 and I-840 in Davidson and Rutherford counties.

The Choice Lanes project will expand a 26-mile stretch of I-24 from downtown Nashville to Murfreesboro, adding two lanes in each direction. The existing four lanes would still be free and open to the public, but the two additional lanes would require drivers to pay a toll in order to use them…
