NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Meharry Medical College’s School of Dentistry will host a day of free dental care this Saturday, March 7, for adults and children in Middle Tennessee.
The school said that cleanings, fillings and extractions will be provided from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis as part of the dental school’s bi-annual Oral Health Day.
Meharry is hosting the free day as it says Tennessee ranks among the worst states for oral health outcomes. According to a 2024 report by the United Health Foundation, Tennessee is ranked No. 43 in the U.S. for health, trailed only by Alabama, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kentucky, West Virginia, Louisiana and Mississippi.
