MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Murfreesboro Police Department has asked residents to use its Safe Exchange Zone after a man was robbed during a meetup for an online sale.
According to MPD, just after 6 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 9, the 48-year-old victim met a group of men at a home on Blaze Drive to sell an “expensive” gold chain he had listed on Facebook Marketplace. One of the men reportedly asked to inspect the chain, when two men in a car nearby pointed handguns at the victim. The men then took the chain and drove away, police said.

MPD encouraged people to meet in the front parking lot of Murfreesboro police headquarters, located at at 1004 North Highland Avenue, to buy or sell items from sales organized online.
