Residents across Northeast Tennessee, Southwest Virginia and Southwest North Carolina could see snow and sharply colder temperatures as a winter weather system moves through the region today and tonight, according to the National Weather Service in Morristown.
In a Hazardous Weather Outlook issued at 6: 43 a. m. Monday, the weather service said rain is expected to change over to snow in higher elevations during the afternoon and evening hours.
