RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — A 19-year-old died in a head-on collision that closed a portion I-840 over the weekend in Rutherford County, officials said.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the crash happened at approximately 5:47 p.m. in the westbound lanes of I-840 near mile marker 52.6 on Sunday, March 22.
A preliminary investigation reportedly indicates that 19-year-old Brookelyn Whitaker was traveling eastbound along I-840 in a 2015 Nissan Altima when, for reasons unknown, the vehicle left the lane of travel, went across the median and crashed head-on into a 2008 Saturn Outlander…
