Smyrna neighbors fight HOA over Easter sign ban

SMYRNA, Tenn. (WSMV) – A controversy is growing in a Smyrna neighborhood after residents were told by their HOA to take down Easter signs they received from their churches.

Michael Yarber and his neighbors have been putting Easter signs in their front yards every spring for nearly a decade. Last week, their HOA started sending emails with photos of their homes that said the signs had to come down immediately.

“My blood was boiling for sure,” Yarber said about the message. “I said, ‘wait a minute, after nine years you’re going to enforce this Easter sign?’”…
