Rutherford County has used a state Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to help two local nonprofits—Nourish Food Bank and The Journey Home—upgrade their equipment and vehicles. The funding allowed the groups to buy two vans and new refrigeration and kitchen equipment to safely store and deliver food to residents in need.
Nourish Food Bank, which serves more than 4,000 people each month, replaced aging freezers and delivery vehicles to keep food fresh and reach more families.
