Rutherford County Library System to hold public meeting for discussion of interim director

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Rutherford County Library System announced Thursday that it will hold a public meeting next week to discuss and interim director.

On Monday, the library board voted to fire Luanne James from the director position following her refusal to relocate 132 children’s books containing controversial material to the adult section.

The decision to move the books was made after the Board Chair, Cody York, and other board members criticized some of them for promoting “gender confusion” and for content involving LGBTQ+ themes and characters…
