The trio opened the restaurant to honor the most influential women in their lives: their mothers. The madres’ portraits hang proudly on the wall, watching over a business built on love, heritage, and a whole lot of scratch‑made goodness.
Talavera, a seasoned chef who once worked at Sperry’s in Nashville, brings high‑end culinary technique to a warm, casual setting. Hernandez, the outgoing pastry chef you’re almost guaranteed to meet when you stop by, is the creative force behind the bakery—swirled butter bread, elaborate cakes, and pastries that disappear as fast as he can make them. And then there’s Cortez, the builder and behind‑the‑scenes problem solver, making sure the kitchen runs smoothly and customers get exactly what they ordered.
The three men grew up together, and their mothers were close friends as well.
