Tennessee park safety bill tied to 2024 greenway killing stalls this session

ANTIOCH, Tenn. (WZTV) — A Tennessee bill aimed at improving safety in parks and greenways statewide will not move forward this legislative session, despite advancing through multiple stages with bipartisan support.

SB 1247/HB 1289, known as the Alyssa Lokits Safety Act, was introduced following the 2024 killing of Dr. Alyssa Lokits, who was attacked while running on the Mill Creek Greenway in Antioch.
