City leaders approve new roadway in Murfreesboro as they expect population to grow

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WSMV) – Murfreesboro’s Planning Commission has approved maps for a new roadway in the city.

The Stonesbattle Parkway/Cherry Lane corridor would create a “critical” east-west connection in the northern part of the city. Under the plan, Cherry Lane would be extended to turn into Stonesbattle Parkway, which developers say will help connect transportation between I-840 and I-24.

That link is anticipated to help bring in and handle growth in the area.

The council said at Wednesday’s meeting that the plan was designed to support future lane growth, as well as development in the area…
