When law enforcement breached the door after announcing themselves, a man inside the unit—identified as 30-year-old Dontarius Dean—reportedly slammed the door and began to barricade it with his body.
Authorities stated once they were able to get inside the apartment, Dean ran towards the balcony and resisted by putting his arms behind his back. Once Dean was detained, it was determined that he sustained a laceration to his forehead after “the door made contact with him,” per the affidavit.
