Power restored after 3.2K+ customers affected by Santee Cooper outage

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — A Tuesday morning power outage affected over 3,200 customers and forced two Myrtle Beach recreation centers to close, city officials said.

The Crabtree Memorial Gym and the General Robert. H Reed Recreation Center in the Market Common closed due to a power outage on the southern end of Myrtle Beach.

All programs, fitness classes, and activities were cancelled while the facilities remain closed, but all were resumed once power was restored, according to city officials.

Santee Cooper crews were working to determine the cause at the time of the outage, but no information on the cause was provided as of 10 a.m. Count on News13 for updates…
