MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Temperatures haven’t changed much this morning. As you start the morning, temperatures are in the mid-60s to low 70s. We will stay dry with plenty of sunshine today, and temperatures will be very similar to yesterday. Highs will remain close to normal, with mid-80s along the coast and lower 90s inland. Humidity levels will stay relatively comfortable so that heat index values won’t be much of a factor today, but that will begin to change on Friday.
Friday will bring several afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures will climb into the low to mid-90s, and heat index values will approach 100 degrees.
The most intense heat is still expected this weekend. Inland temperatures will reach 96 to 98 on both Saturday and Sunday, with heat index values nearing 105. We are continuing to monitor the potential for Heat Advisories to be issued by the National Weather Service for portions of the area this weekend…
