Law enforcement ramps up Fourth of July patrols in Horry County

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Law enforcement agencies are increasing patrols ahead of the Fourth of July holiday as they prepare for higher traffic on roads, waterways, and beaches.

The Horry County Police Department, South Carolina Highway Patrol, and the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources said they are increasing staffing and enforcement efforts throughout the holiday weekend.

Horry County Police Department officers will focus on reckless driving, illegal fireworks, noise ordinance violations, and other unlawful activity. Enhanced patrols will be concentrated in high-traffic areas, including beaches and neighborhoods with prior issues…
