Heat begins to creep back in

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Temperatures will climb slightly higher today than in the past few days. Along the coast, highs will reach the upper 80s, with heat index values in the low to mid-90s. Inland, however, it will be much hotter, with afternoon highs between 96° and 98°. When you factor in the humidity, heat index values will once again reach 100° or higher.

Expect another sunny day with no rain in the forecast. The only change over the next several days will be the intensifying heat.

By Friday, we’ll be monitoring the potential for a Heat Advisory, especially for inland communities, as feels-like temperatures are expected to reach 105° or higher across the area. That dangerous heat continues through the Fourth of July and into Sunday…
