MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Humidity is increasing today, along with slightly higher temperatures, leading to a Heat Advisory for more than half of the area. Marion, Dillon, Marlboro, Scotland, Robeson, and most of Horry County — excluding the Grand Strand beaches — are under a Heat Advisory until 8 p.m. Heat index values will climb above 105, and heat alerts will likely become even more widespread across the area tomorrow.
High temperatures will reach around 90 at the beaches, while inland communities warm into the 95 to 99 range. Rain will remain absent from the forecast this weekend, with each day staying sunny, dry, hot, and humid.
For the Fourth of July, temperatures will climb quickly. Florence is expected to reach around 100 degrees, just shy of the record high of 102. Lumberton could also challenge its record high of 101. The beaches will stay near 90, but inland locations will continue to experience the most intense heat…
