MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — A Heat Advisory is in effect once again this afternoon, with feels-like temperatures expected to surpass 105 degrees. Triple-digit heat index values will stick around for much of the afternoon, just like yesterday. In Myrtle Beach, the heat index stayed above 100 degrees for eight consecutive hours, peaking at 108 degrees.
Some communities did pick up much-needed rainfall yesterday, but just like Sunday, showers were very hit-or-miss. Areas that were fortunate enough to see rain received heavy downpours.
