Judge denies post-trial motions seeking immunity in Horry County road-rage shooting lawsuit

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A judge has denied post-trial motions from two men seeking to overturn earlier rulings that denied them immunity in a wrongful-death lawsuit over a 2023 Horry County shooting.

Judge Eugene Griffith denied motions Wednesday from Weldon Boyd and Kenneth “Bradley” Williams.

The motions sought reconsideration or revision of earlier orders denying the men immunity under South Carolina’s Protection of Persons and Property Act, commonly known as the stand-your-ground law.
