Two separate wastewater spills reported in Horry County waters. Here’s where

Grand Strand Water and Sewer Authority reported two wastewater spills in Horry County after pipeline failures.

The first wastewater spill occurred on Sunday, Aug. 2, on Southern Trail, approximately 1,100 feet north of the intersection of Southern Trail and Gardner Lacy Road in Myrtle Beach. The wastewater flowed from the failure site into a stormwater pond beside Southern Trail, according to a release from the utility.

A second wastewater spill occurred on Wednesday, Aug. 12, on Forestbrook Road, approximately 900 feet southeast of the intersection of Forestbrook Road and Whatuthink Road in Myrtle Beach.
