Near record heat today

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Temperatures are starting warm and above average this Thursday morning. Humidity remains high, and a few areas of patchy fog are possible early. A Heat Advisory remains in effect for all inland areas, while the beaches are excluded. Heat index values will range from 105° to 109° this afternoon.

Actual temperatures will also be above average, reaching around 90° along the coast and climbing into the mid to upper 90s inland. Florence’s record high today is 98 degree and Lumberton’s is 100.

Tonight, temperatures stay warm and it will be dry. There is no rain in the forecast through the remainder of the workweek. Our next chance for showers and storms arrives with a cold front on Saturday…
