A South Carolina man has been arrested and charged after allegedly stealing lottery tickets from a gas station during a job interview and then attempting to cash them in at three local stores.

Police arrested Antonio Levon Ricardo Stewart on Aug. 25 in relation to the incident— over a year after the alleged theft took place — according to a press release issued by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) and arrest documents obtained by PEOPLE.

Stewart, 36, allegedly stole a pack of South Carolina Education Lottery scratch-off tickets from a Murphy USA in Florence in Horry County while he was there for an interview on May 6, 2025.
